IBM Call for Code | concepting, social, branding, style guide. campaign

The IBM Call for Code Global Challenge is an initiative that invites developers to tackle pressing global challenges with code-based app solutions. In 2021, participants are called upon to use their technical skills to address three main concerns: global hunger, clean water and sanitation, and responsible production and green consumption. For this unique project, we were asked to shake staid IBM brand guidelines and deliver concepts that looked and felt more in tune with the spirit of the challenge.

We answered the call by delivering two concepts — and it took off from there.

Expressions and example asset mockups

The concept is translated through each core challenge’s lens. Example assets are created to show how the concept works in execution.

Style guide

Once the client selected concept two, we were off to the races. We created a short initial run of campaign assets and began crafting a style guide. This guide will help internal designers at IBM create collateral for their ongoing Call for Code work, setting brand guidelines for brand voice, tone, design direction, and more.
